Psychological Assessment
Psychological Assessment is a systematic evaluation and measurement of an individual’s psychological, emotional, cognitive, and behavioral functioning to better understand the individual and provide valuable insights into their behavior, skills, thoughts and personality.
Each individual has a range of competencies that can be evaluated and the psychologist is there to evaluate the competencies as well as the limitations of the person, and report on them in an objective manner along with a diagnosis and prognosis, if present.
Psychological assessment aids in the diagnosis of various mental health conditions, including but not limited to anxiety disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders, and developmental disorders. It assists in determining the presence or absence of such disorders and facilitates the development of appropriate treatment plans. These findings can be used by the certified vocational evaluator in determining suitable vocational career clusters and if applicable the individual's residual earning.
In addition, the same findings can be used by the certified life care planner to support the future care needs pertaining to the individual's emotional, cognitive, and behavioral functioning at home, in society and the world of work.
