Life Care Planning (Future Cost of Care)

A comprehensive, detailed assessment that outlines a person’s current and future needs and qualifies the cost related to these needs over the individual’s life span, or the duration applicable. Typically completed for individuals who have experienced catastrophic injury or have chronic health care needs. Future medical and vocational/rehabilitation expenses are forecasted with the focus on maximizing independence, minimizing medical complications and, where appropriate, planning for productive work activity. Accommodations, attendant care, transportation, aids to daily living, medical expenses, professional services, education, pharmaceuticals, home modifications, vocational needs and all other associated costs, based on the individual’s incident related disability, are addressed.
